Wire brushed and etched floors offer a subtle texture to a floor while maintaining a smooth appearance.  Wire brushing pulls the soft grain from the growth ring leaving the heart wood exposed to the surface.  This helps create a more durable floor that is able to mask mis-haps from everyday occurrences.  Our etching process is similar to wire brushing but mainly done on more closed grain species like Maple.  Etched floors create a texture on species with less grain that are able to hide and mask wear and tear.  Wire brushed and Etched floors are available in a number of species in both solid and engineered hardwood.  Boardwalk Hardwood Floors carries a wide selection of wire brushed wood floors in our St. Louis and St. Charles, MO area showrooms.
